TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT)
TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT) is a multi-level assessment to assess the following competencies and skills to generate an associated score:
- Competence on the core cognitive processes required for entry-level jobs
- Industry-specific knowledge and insights
- Specialization on skills required for performing the job role
The NQT score is an assessment of general ability. Many companies conduct their initial selection of candidates based on their general ability scores.
Besides, Industry NQT and Subject NQT scores can help you certify your talent in the areas that are relevant to the role that you are aspiring for.
TCS is one of the companies that will use NQT scores for initial selection. TCS iON team is in collaboration with other corporates to acknowledge the NQT scores so that you can get a job in any industry or role of your choice.
Please note that you need to apply for jobs on the respective corporate portal and meet their eligibility criteria.

About the Test
- Candidates with NQT Score will be eligible to apply on the TCS iON Job Listing portal.
- Mode of Test: Conducted online (at Home) and physical (In-Centre TCS iON Authorised Exam Centres).
- Two-year validity of NQT Score.
- Apply for any entry-level role in any corporate with the NQT Score All tests will be conducted in English language only and there will be no negative marking.
- Candidates who had appeared for NQT in October 2021 can reappear in April 2022 and in all the upcoming tests.
What is NQT- Cognitive Skills ?
NQT Cognitive Skills is a General Aptitude Test that assesses a candidate in the following areas:
Numerical Ability: This section assesses number system, Arithmetic, Elementary Statistics, Data Interpretation.
Verbal Ability: This section assesses English Grammar, Appropriate usage of the same, and Reading Comprehension.
Reasoning Ability: This section assesses identifying words and Numeric patterns, Problem-Solving, Figural and Factual Analysis, Decision-Making, Propositional Reasoning and Visual-Spatial Reasoning.

What is Subject NQT – IT Programming ?
IT programming NQT is a comprehensive assessment of Core Programming skills that get job seekers get hired by the top corporates in the IT Industry.
For the Coding Section – the candidate is offered one question in the form of a Case study or Story. At the end of the caselet, the candidate will be instructed to write a program which takes input in a certain format and produces the output as per their required format.

Attitudinal Alignment NQT or Psychometric Test assess a candidates personality traits and behavior relevant to the work place. Attitude can be a broad component covering Personality, work styles and dispositions relevant to the workplace.

Other Eligibility / Qualifications
- Age Limit: Applying candidates should have a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 28 years.
- An applicant must have a minimum of 60% or 6 CGPA throughout academics and an aggregate of 60% or 6.00 CGPA in the highest qualification till the semester for which results have been declared.
- Backlogs: 1 Active Backlog at the time of appearing for the Exam.
- Course: Only full-time courses will be considered (part-time/ correspondence courses will not be considered). Also, applicants with Secondary and/ or a Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are eligible to apply, if the other courses are full time.
- Experience: 0-2 Years of Experienced candidates can only apply.
- Academic Gap: Overall Gap in Academic Career not to exceed 2 years.
